Dr. Smith brings a wealth of expertise and experience in a variety of applied psychology in the following areas: clinical and rehabilitation psychology, adolescent forensic evaluations, child sexual abuse and domestic violence assessment and treatment, geriatrics and consultation to various organizations and agencies including administration of a community family service agency. She is a licensed clinical psychologist since 1995. Dr. Smith received her B.A. in Psychology from Kent State University, her Masters in Social Work from The Ohio State University and her Doctorate of Psychology from Forest Institute of Professional Psychology.
Dr. Pickton earned a B.S. from Miami University in speech pathology and audiology. He holds an M.Ed. in behaviorally disordered children from Xavier University. Changing his career to mental health, he completed an M.S. and Ed.S. from the University of Nebraska at Kearney in Counseling Psychology and School Psychology respectively. His Ph.D. was obtained from the University of Mississippi in Counseling Psychology. He has been a licensed psychologist since 1988 and is a member of the American Psychological Association. Dr. Pickton joined Psychological and Family Consultants, Inc. in 2000. Dr. Pickton works with children, adolescents, adults, couples and families and primarily employs cognitive behavioral and interpersonal psychodynamic therapy approaches.
Dr. Gannon earned a B.A. from Kent State University in education, sociology, and political science. He later earned an M.A. in counseling from the University of Akron. He subsequently became certified as a National Clinical Counselor and Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor. He completed his Ph.D. at the University of Akron and became a licensed psychologist in Ohio in 1996. He joined Psychological and Family Consultants, Inc. in 1985.
Christian Hendricks received a Bachelor of Arts degree and continued to earn his Dual Master of Arts in Counseling and School Counseling at Walsh University. Christian is working towards his independent license under the supervision of Holly Pederzolli MA, LPCC-S and Dr. Laurel Smith Psy. D. Christian has experience in community mental health at Pathway Caring for Children where he completed his internships and has since been working as an Licensed Professional Counselor for Psychological and Family Consultants. He has experience working with Anxiety, Depression, Mood Disorders, Eating Disorders, Stress Managment and ADHD Testing. He has worked with people of all ages and walks of life.
Anna Pemberton, M.Ed., Ed.S.-
Anna Pemberton earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from The University of Akron. She continued on to earn her Master of Education and Educational Specialist degree in School Psychology from Kent State University. Anna has held an independent school psychologist license from the Ohio Board of Psychology since 2009. She has over 25 years of experience testing and diagnosing children with learning disabilities (reading, writing, and math), ADHD, executive functioning disorders, and autism spectrum disorders. Anna also provides comprehensive IQ and ADHD evaluations for adults under the supervision of Thomas E. Pickton, Ph.D.. Intelligence and academic testing for children and adults is provided using the most updated Scales.
Monica Hess received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and continued on to earn her Master of Arts in Counseling and Human Development at Walsh University. Monica was licensed by the Ohio Counselor, Social Worker, Marriage and Family Therapist Board in 2013 as a professional counselor. Monica has experience in adolescent alcohol and drug residential treatment, outpatient community mental health and crisis counseling here in Stark County. Monica works with adults and adolescents in a variety of areas such as: stress management, depression, anxiety, anger management, relationship issues, grief counseling, career counseling, family counseling, communication skills, crisis counseling, etc. Monica joined Psychological and Family Consultants in 2015 and brings a fresh perspective in serving our community.
Tim Morber, M.Ed., LPCC-S has served as a clinical counselor/supervisor within the greater community for more than 35 years. He has worked with children, adolescents, university-aged clients, adults, and families. He takes a laid-back approach to his counseling and offers his clients diverse perspectives to consider and various clinical options to put into practice.Tim can also offer a Christian faith-based approach upon request. In general, Tim prefers to work with 16 years of age or older, adults, and couples.While he considers himself a generalist clinician, Tim has extensive training in treating anxiety/depression disorders, relationship issues, family systems, and challenges facing young adults. Tim is also paneled with most insurance companies as well as EAP and HSA programs for ease of payment. When he is not serving in his many roles as counselor, consultant, or supervisor, Tim enjoys attending live music events, cooking (ask about his homemade hot sauce!), and gardening. Tim is married with four children, a cat, a dog, and too many house plants to count!
